Storefront overview
For shops with many storefronts, it can be a tedious job to make sure all domain names are correctly configured. One by one the domain settings would have to be visited and verified. This frequently caused mistakes and misconfigured domains.
A new tool was added to the Byte service panel to show the DNS status of all storefronts of a Magento shop. In the Magento Monitor, click on “Domeinstatus / URL” to see which URL’s are configured in your Magento installation, and if the DNS is correctly set up for these domains. This way, just by glancing one page, you can be sure that the domains configured in Magento have their DNS correctly set up.
More tools
By popular demand, midnight commander is added to the Hypernode for easy file system browsing, and some git-flow extensions to git for users that are working with the git flow branching model. More suggestions for improving your workflow can be suggested in our UserVoice page.
Getting useful information from the (JSON) access logs is now much easier thanks to the parse-nginx-log tool.
Improved bot filtering
For some time now we’ve selectively been limiting scanning from malicious or badly configured bots. The result is that all Hypernodes are spending a lot less time rendering requests for bots which gives them more time to serve fast pages to human customers.
This release brings some improved settings for our filters, to make sure more malicious bots are averted and less legit traffic is limited.
